Merhi takes Hockenheim victory
Roberto Merhi survived a late race attack from Marco Wittmann to win the first Formula 3 Euro Series race of the weekend at Hockenheim. The Prema Powerteam driver held on to the lead from pole position after defending from his team-mate Daniel Juncadella at the start.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG isn't exactly subtle to begin with, but Kicherer's take on the theme is decidedly more... stealthy. For starters, the German tuner wrapped the car in matte black vinyl for a more subdued look. It then replaced the big Silver Star in the mouth with a blacked-out blank grille that looks like a baleen whale's mouth. And while the rims on the 20-inch wheels (21 in the back) are polished for a little contrast, the spokes get a blackout treatment as well. Matte-finish carbon fiber trim and aero pieces complete the overall package.
Underhood, the engine has been tuned from the stock 563 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque up to 621 horsepower (equivalent to 630 on the metric scale, hence the 63 moniker) and 516 lb-ft. That's good for a claimed 3.5-second sprint to 62 mph and a 199 mph top end. Have a closer look in the gallery below.

Lorenzo takes first pole of 2011
World champion Jorge Lorenzo took his first pole position of the season in qualifying for the Portuguese Grand Prix, as Marco Simoncelli's bid for the top spot ended in a crash. Having been fastest in both Friday sessions, Simoncelli looked favourite for pole as he set a dominant pace for the majority of qualifying as well. But Lorenzo edged ahead of the Italian going into the final five minutes, and as Simoncelli tried to respond and earn Gresini a first MotoGP pole in over five years, he had a low-side crash at Turn 7.

Jaafar joins F3 International Trophy
British F3 racer Jazeman Jaafar will compete in the inaugural FIA F3 International Trophy this year, which gets underway at Hockenheim this weekend. The Malaysian will compete for an F1 Superlicence in the six-race series, which will also visit Pau, Spa, Zandvoort, Macau and Yeongam.

Carlin fills International Trophy line-up

As if you needed any reminder, in the 1971 film Vanishing Point, a character by the name of Kowalski is tasked with making it from Colorado to San Francisco in a 1970 Dodge Challenger. Kowalski bets a friend that he can make the run in just 15 hours, but - Spoiler Alert - he doesn't make it... and neither does the muscle-bound coupe. The flick has been a cult favorite for years, and one of its fans, Bob Frederick of New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, got some help from Chrysler to create 10 2011 Kowalski Edition Dodge Challengers.
Starting life as a traditional 2011 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392, these white coupes have had their stripes removed and a handful of options added on. Inside, a pistol-grip shifter sits at attention and a numbered dash plaque is mounted nearby. On the outside, the Kowalski Edition Challengers sport Mopar quad exhaust tips, Scat Pack Bee decals in the rear quarter windows and a tasteful Kowalski Edition decal on the rear spoiler.

We've never had a car repossessed, but we imagine it's a painful ordeal. That doesn't mean that it won't make a great game show, however, as the producers of Jersey Shore have created Repo Games. The premise is simple; real repo guys are taking real cars, but with a twist. If a vehicle owner/contestant answers three out of five questions correctly, the vehicle isn't towed, and the winner gets to keep the vehicle outright.
Spike TV, which will air the show, says that people from all walks of life sometimes have trouble making their car payments. Still, we're guessing that many of the show's contestants will be hard-luck types. Hit the jump to watch the three-minute promo video. Many of the questions from the clip appear to be absurdly simple, though the answers aren't always that easy to come by.

There are plenty of fine reasons to play golf. Everyone needs an excuse to get outside and stretch their legs, and smacking the life out of a little white ball is a socially acceptable way to relieve stress with a club. But for many of us, the only reason to get on the green is to get behind the wheel of a golf cart. Our short game may be the living definition of embarrassing, but we'd like to imagine we could execute a fine handbrake turn behind the wheel of an electric rental.
If that's not entertaining enough to wet your whistle, you can always add the thrill of a turbine engine to the mix. We're not exactly sure where the gentleman in the video after the jump got the idea to strap a small jet engine to the back of his custom golf cart, but we like where his head's at. Odds are the other players may have a small problem with the racket that his contraption makes, but that's their problem, right?. Hit the jump to check it out.

The RML Chevrolet squad is battling to get Jason Plato's car rebuilt for the final British Touring Car race at Donington Park after his roll in the second event. Plato started near the back of race two after a puncture in the morning's race, and was forced off after Gordon Shedden's Honda Racing Civic touched Liam Griffin's Motorbase Performance Ford Focus. FIA considering tweak to running order
The FIA is considering a change of regulation ahead of the next round of the World Rally Championship to reverse the running order on rallies. The top 15 crews after day one of world rallies were reversed until the end of the event, before a regulation change at the start of 2008, which meant the cars ran in championship order on day one and rally order on days two and three. Citroen team principal Olivier Quesnel railed against this last season and raised the issue in Jordan last week, where he felt Sebastien Loeb and Mikko Hirvonen were ruled out of the fight because they had to run first on the road.

Andretti: More to come from Conway
Michael Andretti is predicting there is more to come from his team and Mike Conway following the Briton's maiden IndyCar victory at Long Beach. Conway, who was sidelined at the 2010 Indy 500 after a massive accident, took a sensational win for Andretti's team on Sunday.
